Stunning Mountaintop Wedding in Whitefish | Rachel + Ryan

Read on for the beautiful love story of Rachel and Ryan – from the wooded location of  Whitefish Outpost, to the mountaintop views of Whitefish Mountain Resort. Photography by Montana Bride Vendor Dina Remi Photography.

"Our love story started at the most romantic place possible: Costco. We met 8 years ago working there together. Fast forward to present day, and we’re now married, after have a mountaintop wedding in Whitefish, Montana. One year before our wedding we were engaged in the most beautiful place – Glacier National Park – and we wanted to continue our story in Montana.

We were able to have a beautiful and intimate wedding with help from our family, friends, and vendors! Everyone did an amazing job, and worked so well together. I was able to put my whole-hearted trust in everyone. It was a rough road to get here: hurricanes, canceled flights, and unexpected work trips which kept a handful of guests unable to attend last minute. Not to mention the day before our outdoor wedding and reception, the rain and wind flooded the town of Whitefish. Around 1 AM, the day of the wedding, the rain finally subsided. Nerves were high to say the least but, by some miracle, when the afternoon rolled around, so did the sun.

We were lucky enough to find a 15-acre AirBnB called the Whitefish Outpost to host our wedding guests and reception. The property was the perfect location for a reception within the Montana mountains and trees. The property offered ponds, meadows, two cabins, a mansion, grassy fields, and so much more. We were able to spend a week here with family and friends on the property, enjoying each other's company before the wedding.

On the day of the wedding, I got ready with my close friends, my dogs, and mom at the historic cabin. My fiancé and his friends and family were at the bunkhouse cabin doing the same. Afterwards, my dogs and I were ready to do a first look on the balcony of the mansion that overlooks the property. What was planned to be a private moment with my soon-to-be husband and our dogs, turned into a group moment as we looked down from the balcony to see that our families decided to join as an audience!

The ceremony was located at Whitefish Mountain Resort, and could only be reached by ski lift! As Ryan and I rode up the lift, the rest of the public road was riding down and were delighted by the sight. Once we reached the peak of the mountain, our ceremony took place on the edge of the mountain. Our ceremony backdrop was cascading mountains, clouds, and peaks of Glacier National Park.

Our reception was held back at the Whitefish Outpost property in a meadow of trees. As the night moved along; we danced, ate, drank, and enjoyed what time we had left together. After all of the stress leading up to this moment, we savored these last hours." –Rachel, the bride
