This beautiful, century-old mansion overlooking Flathead Lake created the perfect dreamy location for this elegant shoot. Photography by Kiralee Jones.
"Some venues are more of a challenge for planning, decorating, or photographing but all the elements come together for this unique styled shoot that perfectly paired the old elegance with a new, approachable and dreamy style.
The venue is the Somers Mansion – an elegant, century-old, abandoned mansion with crumbling walls and holes in the ceiling. That blank canvas that was expertly enhanced by Paula at With Love, Vintage Rentals and Alpine Designs provided inspired summer florals, including an incredible fireplace piece, which balanced the dramatic with a laid-back feel. The goal of this inspiration shoot was to capture the harmony of bright, beautiful styling with sophisticated undertones.
The venue sits on a hilltop overlooking the small town of Somers, Montana. It captures the imagination of locals and visitors alike who have been curious to see inside for decades, after being shut off from the public by previous owners. For the past 15 years, it’s been vacant and without a roof, subject to vandals and weather alike.
The newest owner grew up in its shadow, dreaming about the possibilities but never venturing inside until purchasing it in the fall of 2020. They are currently working on restoring and turning this forgotten mansion, carriage house, and grounds into a premier venue in Northwest Montana, overlooking Flathead Lake." –Kiralee Jones, Photographer
