"Our first date was spent in Glacier National Park. We took the Avalanche Lake trail, exploring past the tree lines to hidden mountain waterfalls. Jordan and I both share a love for nature and have a strong sense of adventure. We spent a lot of time at my parent's cabin on Swan River. It was there we enjoyed the beauty of the Mission Mountains, kayaking the river, fishing for pike and wandering the wilderness. We spent many mornings watching the swans in the misty meadow, having warm marshmallow fires and staring up at the shining stars as they peaked through the dark sky.
Jordan proposed on the dock of our favorite spot October 21, 2019. He took me to the center of the river where we admired the snow-covered mountains dusted by the sun in the background. Our pup was placed perfectly by my side. Our future started where our relationship began; in the mountains surrounded by Montana’s magnificence.
There was no doubt in our minds that we envisioned our ceremony spot tucked away somewhere in the heart of Glacier National Park. Our photographer, Haley Jessat Photography, was the only one we wanted to capture our special moment. Her passion, pristine and personal touches have always left us speechless.
On September 20, 2020, we took the winding trek up Going-to-the-Sun Road. Our wedding site was past the "Weeping Wall," engulfed with fall foliage, in the hazy meadow of Big Bend. Light rain showers cleared the smoke and gave the sun a chance to peak through the clouds, creating a warm vibrant glow. As “Marry Me” by Train played softly, I made my way down the mountain to the man of my dreams. A blissful breeze made my dress dance and my hair twirl as we shared our vows. The sun illuminated our rings and made the mountains achingly beautiful. As the clouds lowered around us, the scent of rain and pine filled the air. Our hearts were full as we decided on forever and became the Bowlins." – Allix, the bride
