Late Summer Wedding At Holland Lake Lodge | Lauren + Joshua

It was an absolute picturesque day at Holland Lake on September 2 for Lauren and Josh. From stunning florals and details to the perfect mountain lake, their day was unforgettable. Photography by Montana Bride Vendor Renske Photo.

"Our first date was at a local pizzeria; we talked the entire date until we were eventually ushered out by the staff. From then on, we have created our life together. We are definitely a couple that is wired a bit differently; Lauren can be more private, whereas I (Josh), a very open book. Lauren is incredibly hard working, earnest, and likes to do things herself rather than outsource, which happens to be my specialty! But despite these differences, we love each other's company and admire each other for many of the traits each of us doesn't have. We love spending time at our lake cabin in Northern Wisconsin waterskiing, pontooning, going to the local supper club, and spending time with family. We love to travel and appreciate a real variety of scenery (cities and rural landscapes). During our relationship, travel has been a central focus and we found ourselves drawn to the West and Montana several times. Lauren has fond memories of road tripping to Helena, MT, to visit her father's family, and I am an avid outdoorsman, so Montana became a natural choice.

Lauren and I were blessed with a wedding day where the weather was so blissful and still that it was if you could hear the birds singing more clearly and loudly. The sun gently incubated the whole peninsula and made everyone feel so calm and relaxed. Before the festivities began, It was wonderful for the bride and groom to peek out of their respective cabins and see friends and family skipping rocks, swimming in the lake, stopping by after a hike to the falls, and just enjoying the beauty of Montana. Lauren and I elected to do a first look which was so nice because it allowed us (mostly Josh) to get a few tears out of the way, and finally see one another after a day mostly apart. I had been told that you will never feel as much collective love as you do on your wedding day, and I think both Lauren and I found that to be very true. The day was everything we ever wanted and so much more.

Lauren and I would just like to thank all of our Montana hosts who helped make our dream a reality. Everyone from Charlotte at the county courthouse, to Brady our fly fishing guide during our mini moon – everyone was so warm, helpful, and kind!" –Josh, the groom
