Epic Summer Elopement in Glacier Park | Karen + Michael

Looking for stunning mountain views and an insane adventure elopement experience? Look no further than Carrie Ann Photography in Glacier National Park.

"Michael and I met here in Orange County, California. We are both transplants from the mid-west where Michael attended Kansas State University and I attended University of Kansas (in state college rivals). We both moved to Southern California for our careers and met each other through friends. Our first date went from an hour-long planned hike in Crystal Cove State Park into a 6-hour hike. We both realized that we were starting to build a connection right away – we had the same values, common interests and made each other laugh. Our date could have not been better! The past February, Michael and I traveled to Mammoth Mountain for a long weekend where his planned proposal went wrong! Haha! My husband's original plan was to propose on the mountain while we were skiing/snowboarding. He is an avid snowboarder so his idea was to wipe out and have me ski up behind him and ask if he was alright. But little did we know that the mountain conditions were not favorable and were icy to where he was falling down multiple times, and he was getting sore. By mid-morning the second day, we had to take a break so we skied back to our ski lodge for an adult beverage where he got down on one knee and proposed. He calls it the 'proposal that went wrong but went right' because I said YES.

The wedding day itself turned out to be perfect, easy, and stress free. Earlier in the week as we were driving through western Montana the smoke from California, Oregon and Washington started moving in which caused little visibility. Our wedding day was three days out and we had no idea if the smoke was going to clear or let up. As the week went on, the visibility improved, and we heard the smoke wasn't near as bad in the Glacier Park (Logan Pass). We started off our day with breakfast and massages at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake. Lana (hair/makeup) arrived at our condo at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake to do my hair and makeup. We then traveled into the park and met up with our photographer and officiant. From that point on it was easy-going, stress free and full of excitement! We were both fascinated by the beauty of the park as we were driving on Going-To-The-Sun Road and eventually started to see a break of blue skies! Our wedding ceremony at Sun Point was perfect and our officiant Shawna Benson nailed our ceremony and vows! Carrie Ann our Photography took care of all of our wedding day details which made our day easy and stress-free for us. She is a one-of-a-kind photographer and captured all the moments we had together. We couldn't have been happier and so pleased for the decision to elope in Montana. We cannot wait to return next year for our 1 year anniversary and many more to come!" – Karen, the Bride
