Stunning Paradise Valley Wedding | Stewart + Wyatt

With unbeatable Paradise Valley views, and a live music reception at the local Pine Creek Lodge, this beautiful wedding day has the best of both worlds. Photography by Capture Now Studios.

"Wyatt and I met through mutual friends while living in Nashville, Tennessee. We bonded through our love of live music and SEC football, although he went to Alabama and I went to Auburn, so the fall in our household can get a little contentious! He proposed by planning us a trip to Highlands, North Carolina, and where he proposed on the top of Whiteside Mountain. Before proposing, he was so excited that he couldn't help but telling literally everyone, so shout out to our friends for keeping his secret!

When I think about our wedding day, the one word comes to mind: grateful. We were so grateful for the people who traveled near and far to celebrate with us; so grateful to have an absolutely beautiful place to get married; so grateful to everyone who helped my vision come to life (especially our vendors and my parents who went above and beyond in their time, effort, and generosity); and grateful that I got to marry my best friend.

We knew that most people coming were traveling a long distance to be there so we wanted to give them the full Montana experience. We started the weekend off with a welcome barbecue and then drinks at The Murray, on Saturday we hosted people down on the river so everyone could dip their toes in the Yellowstone, and then Sunday was the main event with the ceremony in my parent's front yard and reception right down the road at Pine Creek Lodge.

Our ceremony was looking down Paradise Valley with our horses in the field behind us and champagne already flowing for the guests. It was so special to look out and see everyone there witnessing us exchange vows. After the ceremony, everyone went about a mile down the road to Pine Creek Lodge. As soon as we got engaged, we knew this was where we wanted to have the reception. The owners, Chip and Jenny, have created an absolute gem of a restaurant/venue/gathering spot and we have always felt so at home there that we wanted to make sure our guests got to experience some of the Pine Creek magic. For the reception, I really wanted everyone to just have fun – Wyatt and I both changed into Chacos and were front row to the music all night long. Beers were stocked in the infamous 'brew canoe,' and dinner consisted of southern favorites shrimp and grits, roast beef, succotash, squash casserole, and mac and cheese.

When planning our wedding I really wanted to focus on the big things that mattered the most to us: our favorite people being with us in our favorite place, good food and drinks, and the music. As long as everyone was having a good time, I really tried not to worry about the rest. With a setting as pretty at Paradise Valley, I kept the decor and florals simple and let the naturally beautiful setting do the rest. We flew in Tim Tyler as an ode to my college days in Auburn where many a night was spent listening to him on the piano at Sky Bar. And of course we had to include our dog, Bo, who thought everyone had come to Montana to see him! I truly would not have changed a thing as the vibe for the whole weekend was relaxed and people getting together in a beautiful setting to enjoy each other's company and have a good time!" –Stewart, the bride
